String Arrangements
arrangements and original movements that were commissioned for albums in various genres
Shigadon
Shigadon (Gout) was commissioned by the Pop singer/songwriter Adi Derry. It appears on his debut album Hubris. It was tailor made to serve as a brief transition between two songs. The movement expresses extreme arrogance, fitting the narrative of the concept album. The themes are taken from the preceding song (titled Snake) and form an anagram of the artist’s name.
More Than a Thought
The strings arrangement for More Than a Thought, a song composed and produced by Itay Dayan, was commissioned as the final layer on top of the existing band arrangement. The goal was to add some color and help support the dramatic unfolding of the song. The strings come in at 02:16
Itay Dayan is a Boston-based Israeli klezmer clarinetist, blending influences from Eastern European Jewish music and Middle Eastern music.
